The Regional Perinatal Programs of California (RPPC), was established by the California Department of Public Health in 1979 and evolved from the need for a comprehensive, cooperative network of public and private health care providers within geographic areas to assure the well-being of pregnant women and their babies and to promote access to appropriate levels of high quality care. Funding is provided through the Federal Title V MCH Block Grant.
